Mechanical Engineering Department

Where science meets hands-on engineering

About the Department

Established with the college’s inception in 1976, the Mechanical Engineering Department graduates engineers with a deep understanding of engineering principles and practical applications.

We focus on equipping our students with solid scientific foundations and practical training in design, production, and energy fields, enabling them to contribute effectively across various engineering sectors.

Department Divisions

Focuses on energy-related systems and their conversion. Core courses include thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, power plants, internal combustion engines, refrigeration and air-conditioning.

Concerned with the design and manufacture of mechanical components and systems. Courses cover materials science, manufacturing processes, machine design, CNC, and precision measurements.

Our Vision

To offer high-quality mechanical engineering education and contribute to community development through our academic and research outputs.

Our Mission

To supply the labor market with competent engineers equipped with the necessary scientific knowledge and practical skills through advanced academic programs and a supportive environment for application and research.

Department Goals

Our goals revolve around students while continuously developing the department and serving the community:

  • Provide a solid scientific foundation through modern curricula covering all branches of mechanical engineering.
  • Develop practical and applied skills via specialized labs, workshops and project-based learning.
  • Encourage scientific research that supports education and addresses industrial and societal challenges.
  • Forge effective partnerships with industry linking study to real practice and providing training opportunities.
  • Maintain continuous quality standards and keep enhancing the learning environment.
